Kitesurfing (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

It had preformed inflatable tubes and the simple bridle system that helped in re-launching in the water. In 1997 kiteboards were developed and replaced the skis. By 1999 kitesurfing turned into a mainstream sport. The first competition took place in Maui in September of 1998. Schools teaching kitesurfing has also emerged.

Kitesurfing can be learned through kitesurfing schools. These schools provide courses and lessons to teach students all the skill they need for kitesurfing. This includes, flying, kite launching, landing, how to use the bar, including lines and safety devices. Eager students should take lessons from certified kite surfing instructors because the equipments can easily be misunderstood.

It may look easy from the shore but there are a number of considerations to think of such as kite set up, size and type. Students should also learn the proper way of operating and maintaining the power kite.

After the students have learned the techniques in kite flying they must now learn bodydragging. The power kite is flown and the students are dragged through the water. The method is pretty much similar to body surfing but with an upward lift instead of a being pulled forward. Kitesurfing gear can cost from $1000 to $3000. Apart from the standard equipment you may need to buy a life vest, gloves, booties, hood, wetsuit and different kites for varying conditions.

Kitesurfing can be dangerous so it is restricted to some locations for safety reasons. Fortunately there are sites wherein you can go kitesurfing. Just make sure that before you get in the water you have proper equipment and be sure to follow safety regulations.

Kitesurfing (part 1 of 2)

Flying kites is originally a child's past time. However that does no stop the adults from continuing to enjoy them. Kites have become a past time for people of all ages. It was a matter of time that adults find a way to diversify the activity. With our unending quest for thrills and extreme sports, people are finding more ways to create something exciting by combining different ideas. Combining the propulsive power of the kite and a surfboard, you have kitesurfing.

Kitesurfing is a fairly new sport but it is gaining interest from thrill seekers. Everyday people are always finding something new to give them a break out of the routine of everyday living. It involves the use of power kites to pull a rider on the water with a small surfboard or kiteboard.

Something radical out of something simple

Flying kites is a passive safe game. However if you use for other purposes it can be exciting. The use of kites for propulsion originated from the Chinese. In the 1800's kite was used to propel ships and carts with the use of a 4 line control system. The main purpose in that time was to substitute kitepower for horsepower due to the horse tax.

In the 70's Kevlar and Spectra flying kites were made, making them more controllable and efficient with more kite traction. In the 80's kites were combined with now snow skis, roller skates, canoes ice skates and water skis.

The development of kitesurfing continued as better designs emerged. In November of 1984 the first inflatable design was patented. Since then, it has used by many companies to make their own products. In 1997 the "Wipika" kite design was developed and sold.

Going on a Road Trip? (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Check your car.
Never go on a last minute travel by land without having your car checked. Don't leave anything to chance.  So maybe the next gas station/repair shop is just 10 miles away. What if your car breaks down – are you willing to walk/hitch the rest of the way just to get your car checked? Make sure everything is in order before you even leave your driveway.

Stop and get your bearings.
Last minute trips can be forever trips if you get lost. If you've been traveling a while on the road, stop and try to see if you're going in the right direction or at least taking the right road. Use landmarks and street signs to determine your exact location. Got a GPRS? Use it.

Going public? Confirm your tickets.
If you'll be taking your last minute travel by land on a public transportation, make sure to get your tickets ahead of time. You could queue, of course but if you want to make sure you travel faster, have your tickets on hand.

Have cash on hand.
Not every destination you arrive at might have an ATM or a bank. In case you need cash fast, at least you have something in your wallet, bag or pocket. If you're traveling by land at the last minute, make sure you have cash in change -- $1, $5, $10 and $20 bills, along with loose change in coins. So in case you find a hotel, inn or restaurant that will only take cash, you're ready.

Plus, you never know if you'll have to make a call from a telephone booth. After all, there are still areas where mobile phones won't work.

...Last Minute Travel Tips By Land

Traveling by land does have its advantages – you can go as fast or as slow as you like, choose your mode of transportation (car, trains or bus) and enjoy the view. You can't really do that from an airplane or a cruise ship. So is last minute travel by land making you break out into sweat and causing panic attack? It doesn't have to. Here are tips you can use:

Get a map.
Never leave home without it. Other than a water bottle and a reliable car, a good road map is your best friend when traveling last minute by land. Choose a motorist's map because it has more detailed information about the roads and highways you might have to use.

If you have time, try to study the map and mark your current location and your destination. Look at the route you want to take and try to check alternate routes as well. You never know if there's a traffic jam or construction work somewhere.

While you're at it, try to check for local accommodations, gas stations, restaurants, hospitals or clinics along the way. That should give you sufficient information on the most basic things – where to get gas, where to eat, go to the bathroom, sleep or your tires checked. That way, you'll be able to plan your trip accordingly.

Pack up the necessities.
Bring only the things you will truly need on this trip, although if you'll be traveling by car, you probably can pretty much bring just about anything that will fit in your trunk or backseat. If you're traveling by public transportation, make sure to bring only the necessary stuff. That will help keep you mobile so you can move around fast.

Clothing And Folds

For clothing, the folds are very important details that you should take note of. You should always remember to take into consideration the direction that the fabric would be pulled. That is where you should create folds. Also, remember to shade the parts that are not subjected to light, like grooves, places in which there is an overlap of cloth and areas within folds.

For female characters, the clothing usually cling tighter to the body. For male, they usually hang loosely. There are also body portions that folds always occur, whether you are drawing a boy or girl character. These portions usually include the shoulders, lower waist, ankles and knees. There is less creases on the cloth on the lower and upper leg, since they are usually hanging loosely or are simply pulled down by gravity. They only have folds when the leg is being lifted up.

The most common pieces to be seen are pants, shirts, skirts, kimonos and capes. Manga art is very fond of using capes and kimonos, especially if the setting of the story is somewhere long ago in the past. School uniforms are a favourite too, which usually consist of pants and coats for boys and white blouses and mini skirts for girls.

Eyes

The eyes are the most important aspect of your character. This is what makes them different from other characters. Thus, you have to learn how to draw them correctly. For most cases, female eyes are drawn big. They are also more complicated than male eyes, since they tend to have a lot of shiny areas.

It is important that you select a light source, so that you would know where to put the white shiny areas on the eyes. For male eyes, they do have shiny areas but they are less obvious, than that of female characters. Male eyes are also narrower than female’s.

Most of the time, they are shady too in order to give life to the character, especially if they have a very mysterious personality.

Manga is the world famous style of drawing Japanese cartoons. It is also more popularly known as “Anime”. This style of drawing has captivated a lot of Anime fans all over the world and people of all ages. Here are some of the basics of drawing Manga.

Learn The Culture

If you really want to draw good Manga, it is best that you learn more about Japanese culture. Most Anime’s are based on Japanese tales and historic characters. It is also better if you learn to observe the different surroundings and places in Japan. This is so that your drawing would really have a Japanese feel to it.

The Hair

Characters’ hair is generally based on a variety of hair strand shapes. More often, these shapes have a grass like appearance to it that is more curved at the lower end. Just like real hair, they do have many strands. However, you do not draw each individual strands as is, instead, you have to draw it into clumps.

It is important to take note that there is a skull underneath your character’s hair. A lot of artists overlook this factor and usually end up drawing oddly shaped heads. It is better that you draw a hairless head first so that it would look natural when you add on the hair.
